Today I did a bit of refactoring. I’m following along with the Astro tutorial, but the goal isn’t to just have the site that they walk me through, in the end. I’ve started deviating from the plan while still learning the tutorial. You should be doing the same: if you are following a tutorial that is teaching you how to build something, the function is the most important, the form can likely be customized. Unless they are specifically trying to teach you styling, freestyle so that the concept of execution becomes more second nature.
The way I went about making this project my own is I started adding components that I wanted on my site, based off what I’ve learned so far. Part of the tutorial teaching you how to make a social media component. There is a styling that I was going for with mine, so I decided to make my own. The end result is pretty slick, if I say so myself.
I’m looking forward to starting off tomorrow!
