I had some challenges, but asking in the community really helped!

Today I learned about how to make reuseable componets in Astro. It’s not much different than creating components in other frontend frameworks like Vue or Angular. Much of the way that you write them is similar. In this instance, Astro components are blocks of HTML that can be called as a custom HTML tag. This allowed me to save a ton of time when creating the header nav bar as well as the footer social media bar. If you’ve never created reusable components, Astro makes it super simple.
I went to take a break in between focus blocks and watch a quick anime movie that I’ve been interested in called Ninja Scroll. It came out either in the late 80’s or early 90’s, I dont really recall, but I do remember the art style was pretty sick. Anyway, the site that I watch it on was shut down!
Hi Anime was one of, if not the biggest anime sites EVER. Now if you look it up, you’ll see plenty of people going on and on about how it was a piracy site, and that’s true, but it’s not as simple as that. Anime has notoriously been hard to get ahold of here in the states. Either you can’t get ahold of a title, or the title was never subtitled or translated and dubbed. This makes it hard for fans of the genre to watch movies and series that they are interested in. After years of this, many sites over the years have taken to creating small communities of translators to bring these works to english speaking fans.
Studios have spent millions to close these sites one by one over the years - the same money they could spend to translate the titles! The fans would rather pay for it, typically they find these secondary anime sites AFTER looking for legitimate ways to watch.
This put me in a sour mood among some bad family news so I called it a day. Looking forward to jumping back into it tomorrow.
